The little girlβs brother had been feeling very sad and lonely indeed. He saw many of his friends and cousins get married off. Even those who were younger than him. He wanted nothing more than to love someone with all his heart and be loved back. He never expected to find his soulmate who would love him soooo much with such a pure heartβ¦ but guess what, he did, he did, he did!
And then they said, I do, I do, I do.
It was the happiest day of the little girlβs brotherβs life.
And the best part was that the angel knew that the little girlβs brother sometimes had brain attacks, and she still loved him dearly. She said that he must have taken care of her in a past life and that she was here in this life to take care of him.
The little girlβs brother had been feeling tense in the run-up to the wedding with all the arrangements to be made, and his thoughts went out of control again. His feelings spilled out again onto the little girl. He called her the awful names that the boys in school had called her, and the little girl went back to the place where she was staying in the city and cried and cried. She didnβt feel like going to the wedding, but she knew she had to. He was her only sibling, and no matter what he did or said to her, she loved him very much.
At the wedding reception, the little girl gave a little speech. She had tears in her eyes and hugged her brotherβs angel wife and thanked her from the bottom of her heart for being there for her family where she could not.
The angel not only loved the little girlβs brother, but she loved the little girlβs mummy and daddy so much too. She moved into their big house with them and was always sweet and kind and always had a smile on her face. She and the little girlβs mummy became the best of friends. The angel went to work in a school to bring smiles to small children, and the little girl’s mummy continued to look after them all. Mealtimes were a jovial affair. They all talked and laughed a lot. It was a happy house.
Now that the little girlβs brother was married, he was happier. His life had meaning. He felt loved and understood by his angel. They had a good life together: eating in nice places, meeting friends, dancing, and going on lovely holidays together. The little girl’s brother always had something to look forward to with his angel, and he felt a sense of responsibility towards her.
Because of this, his thoughts were more in control; he didn’t hear or see things that were not there as much, and so the little girl was able to visit her family more often. Things were so good that she was able sometimes to spend the night at her family home. By this time, she was divorced and working towards getting an education. She didnβt have much money or a home of her own to live in. She was staying in various places here and there whilst trying to find her way in the world.
When staying at their family home now, they had the bestest times. The little girlβs brother was absolutely fine with her! It was as if nothing had ever happened. They hung out together. They had meals together, and she would bring her little children to visit. Her brother was happy and was the best uncle to them. In the summertime, they all played with water guns in the garden, and their squeals and laughter filled the air. It was a very happy time.
But, by and by, the euphoria of newly married life wore off, and the little girlβs brother sometimes remembered the bad things that happened to him and his sister and the pain he’d seen on his mummyβs face when they were younger, and it would make him angry. He fought with his father a lot. Sometimes, he would go to a party and drink or smoke something that would make him feel better for a little while, but these things made his brain more poorly and sometimes he would simply stop taking his brain medicine. When these things happened, the little girlβs brother had a brain attack.
It was just like before. Sometimes, an ambulance came, and sometimes, the little boy had to stay in the big hospital for a while until he felt better. However, this time, he had the beautiful dark-haired angel to help him through it. She was so understanding, loving and supportive.
And so, the good times were over and as her brotherβs brain had become poorly again, the little girl had to stay far-far away again. She tried to visit him for short periods, but she saw that even if she didnβt say anything, the voices would perhaps say nasty things in his mind about her, and all of a sudden, her brother would lash out again at her for seemingly no reason.
And it wasnβt just her. It started happening with other people, too. People who tried to help her brother. For example, a neighbour who saw that he needed help tried to teach him healing and meditation techniques. But the little girl’s brother began trying to attack him, too. He thought he was part of a ‘network’ who were trying to control his mind. While the little girl’s brother was alone in his room, he said he could hear the neighbour’s voice. He said he sometimes heard his sister, the little girl’s voice, too, even though she wasn’t there, and that the things the voices were saying were frightening. Eventually, that kind and helpful neighbour had to look down and away as he passed his house as the little girl’s brother might try to attack him again, and his name could never be mentioned in the house.
By this time, the only thing the little girl could do to help her brother was to stay out of his way. After she finished her law degree in London, she got some opportunities to work in the media industry in India and moved there to find a life for herself. Any interactions between the little girl and her brother were once again tense and usually ended in harsh words and tears.
The only ray of sunshine in the darkness was that the little girl’s brother loved his angel wife very much. He told her every day how much he loved her. He told her every day how beautiful she was. Every word was sincere, and it came from his heart. His angel wife loved him, too.
Back in London, the little girlβs mummy, daddy and the angel wife were trying their best to live a normal life, but soon enough, they were at their witsβ end. Because the little girl’s brother’s brain was unwell and their father’s physical health was deteriorating, the business was struggling, there was always tension in the house, their father was always angry too, and the little girlβs mummy would be crying and crying all the time. She had endured so much in her past, and the future seemed very bleak, too.
The little girlβs mummy had siblings who didnβt live far away. She had kind, loving, supportive brothers and sisters, some wonderful friends, too. Some of them knew something was up, but they didn’t know just how poorly her boy’s brain was. Perhaps she was still ashamed, afraid of what people would think. It was the kind of thing one just didn’t talk about. She had crumbled inside but couldnβt tell anyone about what she was really going through.
Then, one day, out of the blue, the little girl’s brother sent her a message to say he was coming to visit her in India. The little girl was surprised beyond belief and very, very happy that her brother finally wanted to see her. But what had changed?
