The little girl π§π» tried to settle down for the night π but she couldnβt sleep π΅
Before dropping them off, the little prince π€΄π» had picked up a dog leash from the palace, so the little girl had clipped one end to the collar on the little dog πΆ and had tied the other end around the leg of her chaise lounge ποΈ so that this uninvited guest in her home would hopefully stay in one place. Upon seeing the chaise the little dog was so excited π€© he immediately jumped on it, made himself comfortable between the cushions and promptly fell into a deep slumber πΆ π΄ This creature must have been exhausted, thought the little girl. As exhausted as I am after a night of fun π₯πΎ and dancing ππ»
But the little girl couldnβt sleep π΅ she left her bedroom door open and kept a vigil. If the little dog made the slightest sound she jumped up π― and went to check that the little dog hadnβt left her a steaming gift π© anywhere or a yellow puddle to clean up π π βI am NOT π π»ββοΈ cleaning up anything coming out of this thing. Eew π€’ disgusting,β she said to herself.
Eventually, she could keep her eyes open no more and she too went off to the land of nod π΄ But barely had she slept an hour, in the early hours of the morning, just as the sun was rising π the little dog πΆ as fresh as a daisy πΌ now after his nap, had given himself a good wake up shake π€ͺ
The clinking sound of the collar and leash reached all the way to the sleeping little girlβs ears. She opened one eye π then the other π and smiled π Sheβd been dreaming of the wonderful ball sheβd just attended. The little girl yawned and stretched ππ»ββοΈ then her eyes flew wide open all of a sudden π² sheβd remembered the little dog. βOh, fβ¦ fiddle, fiddle, fiddlesticks!β π― She threw off her bedsheets and rushed to the room, sniffing the air and looking for evidence that her chaise or floors hadnβt been defaced. Thankfully they were just as she had left them, so she quickly threw on her gown πslippers π₯Ώ a hat π and some eye shades πΆοΈ hoping nobody would recognise her π and made her way all the way down ππΌdown ππΌ down ππΌ to the grounds with the little dog to make sure he went poopoo peepee π© π outside.
But did he go poopoo peepee? π© π Oh no, thatβs right, he did not.
βCome now little fellow, do your thing,β the little girl tried to cajole the little dog between nursing her headache π₯ π€ yawning π΄ and fixing her bedhead. But the little dog πΆ made the little girl walk around and around ππΆπ»ββοΈ the castle π° many, many, many times. He sniffed around all the wheels of the carriages π he sniffed around all the gardens πΏπ· but did he go poopoo peepee? π© π Oh no, thatβs right, he did not.
The little girl thought perhaps the little dog might be hungry π΅ So, she brought him up all the way up ππΌ up ππΌ up ππΌ to the tower again. The little girl was used to dining at fairs πͺ and her kitchen cupboards were almost bare, so she gave him a bowl of milk π₯ and bread π for that was all she had. The little dog lapped up the milk but didnβt touch the bread. Then he sat upright and expectant, wagging his tail π and smiling at the little girl πΆ π
Okay, little creature, so youβre kinda cute, but now what? π€·π»ββοΈ she thought. Now that heβs drunk some milk π₯ heβll surely need to go peepee π So down they went. All the way down ππΌ down ππΌ down ππΌto the grounds again and all around and around ππΆπ»ββοΈthe castle π° again.
But did he go poopoo peepee? π© π Oh no, thatβs right, he did not.
Oh heavens, now what?! π€·π»ββοΈ thought the little girl desperately in need of sleep π΄ If I take him up and I try and sleep again, he shall certainly do his business π© π in my beautiful tower π° π
Then she had an idea. She must ask the little prince π€΄π» what to do. So the little girl sent a carrier pigeon ποΈ π² with a message π to the prince and waited. But no reply came. There were still many hoursΒ to go before they could go back to the place they had found the dog and look π for his owners π¨βπ§βπ¦ The sun β had barely risen in the sky and the little prince was deep in the land of nod π€΄π»π΄ So she took the little dog πΆ back, up ππΌ up ππΌ up ππΌ all the way up to the tower again and waited some more.
Even though she felt like she had just crawled out of hell and all she wanted to do was curl up in her cosy bed and sleep, she was out of options. So the little girl decided to get dressed and take the dog out. At least if they were out there wouldnβt be any accidents π© π in her beautiful home.
She tied the little dog to the chaise, begged it not to go poopoo peepee π© π while she was in the shower πΏ then shut the bathroom door πͺ
Butβ¦ Upon seeing the little girl disappear the little dog became very, very sad π πΆ π₯Ί He cried and tried to tap his little paws at the bathroom door. The little girl took the fastest shower πΏ of her life and rushed out of the bathroom.
And this was the moment π that everything changed forever π As she opened the door, the little girl π§π» was met with the most glorious, the most wondrous, the most magnificent sight π€© π« she had ever seen in her whole, entire life!
